vacation so far and shout outs

Hello friends! The kids and I have been having a wonderful time here in Minnesota, with the notable exception that we all miss Daddy.
I hopped on the treadmill yesterday for the first time and "ran" (try slow trot) 2 miles. I felt heavy and stiff but my lungs thoroughly enjoyed NOT being at altitude. My back and hamstring is also feeling much better after my 90 minute deep tissue massage. Worth. Every. Penny. Poor lady recommended that I come back a few more times to really try and loosen up my back...Ha. I wish. I think the commute from the Rez is a little too far, even for me.
Hopefully I will get to run at least 2 more times before we take off for Oklahoma on Saturday. Also, I think it bears mentioning that I am looking into some logistical problems relating to the Las Vegas Half. Never fear! I have already found out that there is another Half one month later in Phoenix! I will update you as soon as I can talk to the Hubs and we can decide what is most practical and possible for our family.

SHOUT OUTS!
My folks continue on their training plan to run their FIRST MARATHON on October 3rd! I am so proud and inspired. As I write Lita (what Addison calls her grandma) is out on a 10 mile run! GO LITA!!

Also, I need to give a very special shout out to my dear friend Heather who just ran her second 5K this weekend! (Her first was with me...in the RAIN) She did AMAZING, even placing 2nd in her age division! Way to go Heather!! I wish we still lived close to one another to be running buddies!!

Until we meet again. Keep running the good race.

  1. I was just wondering if you were getting any runs in on your vacation--good for you :) I would vote for the half in Phoenix, as that is the one I am considering running myself. Totally jealous about the massage. I ran 4 miles yesterday --woo! Sounds like a lot until I hear Paige say she is running 15 on saturday. I thought of tagging along with her but it sounds like we wouldn't be running very long "together". :)
